This was the result of my final project for Digital Media. I liked the idea of a machinima, but was also interested in stop motion animation, so I decided to create a hybrid medium. This is based on a scene from Garden State, with animations done using action figures.  Click here for high resolution version.

second life avatar:
This image was the result of my second life avatar project, where I used the appearance controls in second life to create a close representation of myself.  The project is interesting, I think, because it makes the viewer think about identity in the digital age, where anonymity is the norm, and things like second life exist as a place where someone can change their identity.

the superbowl:

This is my chindogu infomercial for my spoonless cereal bowl.  I tried as best as I could to mimic the obnoxious late-night infomercials that advertise these types of products.  Full resolution version can be viewed here.

the spoonless cereal bowl:
This project involved the creation of a chindogu concept, an almost useless invention.  This is the proposal.  My original idea was to create a simple apparatus to hold a cereal bowl on one’s neck.  The idea evolved to include an oversized straw, as shown in my fake infomercial.

enough in motion:
This is the collaborative animation that my digital media class created using the images from the text/object/image montage project.  My animation is the last one, immediately before the credits beginning at 2:04..  My goal was to create a more involving sense of the chaos and drama than the original montage was able to convey, using manipulated audio of Barack Obama saying “enough”.

where is the light?:
With the final image from my montage project, I chose to take powerful, violent imagery, and make play of it. Something as innocent and harmless as a baby, placed in such a brutal setting is bound to confuse the viewer about the intent of the image.

a little threat:
The second result of my montage project, a little threat conveys, in stark visual language, the hostile and untrustworthy world we often find ourselves in.
